Redang Island is located in the South China Sea is one of the nine islands that make up the marine park Redang Island, in the state of Terengganu, Malaysia, as well as an important turtle conservation site. The waters around Pulau Redang also contain two historic shipwrecks, the HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse were sunk here that at the beginning of World War II and created an environment for the Japanese occupation of Malaya.
